Healthy Families Program
CAPCO is the proud new grantee of the Healthy Families New York grant. The Healthy Families New York home visiting program matches parents with knowledgeable and caring workers who provide information and support during pregnancy and early childhood. Services include helping families access community resources and services, educating families on parenting and child development, connecting families with medical providers, and assessing children for developmental delays.
The Program is expected to be operational by the Spring of 2018. In anticipation for the start of the new Program, CAPCO will begin recruitment to fully staff the program for start-up. CAPCO will be recruiting for the following full-time Healthy Families New York positions:
Family Support Worker (2):
Responsible for establishing a trusting relationship with families through initiating and maintaining regular, long term contact with families for the purpose of strengthening the parent-child relationship, providing child development information, offering support in the areas of goal setting and problem solving.
Associates degree in human services or related field and at least 1 year experience working with at risk families and/or children or High school diploma / GED plus three years life/work experience caring for young children or providing family development services required.
Program: Head Start/Early Head Start
Status: Variable hour, opportunity for up-to 37.5 hours per week-dependent on availability
Job Function: Under guidance of the Classroom Supervisor and/or lead teaching staff, plan and coordinate the administration and implementation of the Educational Services Functional Area of the Performance Standards and other education requirements. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prefer related experience and/or training in a child care setting. Should have a strong desire to work with children birth – 5 years old.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
